Why r they not blaming the perpetrator of this crime. Is it because he is one of their community or r they now going to seek compensation - omg
The police r in an impossible position. I bet it turns out he has had a history of this sort of behaviour.
What about his own family didnt they know what he was like or previous girlfriends.

The policea are being blamed because the family had previously reported this person as stalking their daughter, and the police hadn't taken it seriously enough, and hadn't acted on it. Maybe if they had taken some notice, the girl would still be alive.

Because this was reported seemingly before and the police did nothing about it. Ignored the family, and now we have seen the results. Though if the man was determined enough, and out on bail, then nothing was really going to prevent this awful crime.

you only see journalists expressing an opinion in a case like this , most people shrug their shoulder .

i guess the first sentence answers your question

"Police knew an obsessed stalker had attacked and threatened to kill stabbed schoolgirl Arsema Dawit..."

but the police are busy people - how on earth are they supposed to keep two people apart?

verdict - tragedy but not the police's fault

sounds like yet another African personal vendetta brought to this country by immigrants. As both are Eritreans it would seem to me that we are being invaded by criminals from the Horn of Africa where this type of behaviour is a daily occurrence. The present government has so handicapped the police that they can do little except pick up the pieces. The average little oik carries a knife, especially int he cities, meaning the now teenagers settle any difference with the knife rather than with reason or fists. these people from Africa who kill have little regard for life, like Mugabe and his ilk, so maybe they should be sent back to their countries of origin. The plea that their life is in danger should no longer count after committing murder.

The reason why some people blame the police in the case of the murdered 15 year old girl, is because both she and her family had reported a 'stalker' to the police, who told her and her family that there was nothing they could do.

Scotland Yard are already carrying out a thorough inquiry into the matter.

How can a 15 year-old school girl be stabbed to death in her own block of flats in the public lift?

The security doors to her block were not working. The council have said they will fix the doors today (04.June.08).

Too little too late.

Arsema died a victim of a vile killer on the loose and probably a person well known to the police.

I do not blame the police or anyone. I just think we need a complete revamp of the system which is supposed to protect children from harm and the population at large are now demanding this.

Pray for Arsema and her dear mother and sister. God bless them. The poor dear darlings.
