A baseball diamond is officially defined as a square with side length 90 feet. The pitcher throws the ball to the batter from a position 60 ft. 6 in. away from home plate. Is the pitcher's position in front of, on or behind the line from first to third base? Why is it so?
I believe it is on the the line from first to third base but I am not sure why? But then I believe that it is before the line because I used the pythagorean theorom to find the hypotenuse and divided it by two. Can someone explain it to me? Or am I wrong and it is not on the line from the first base to the third base? I got really confused! Can someone help me!
