The gears on my mountain bike have suddenly stopped working. I've looked at the wires and they are all fine, and I can't seem to spot anything wrong with them.
It seems to be able to change from first gear into second, and then back to first again but when I try and change them to third, fourth for fifth gear nothing happens. It doesn't move from second gear. The bit you turn by the handle bar clicks but the gears do not respond.
Any idea what could be causing this? I realize this is probably a difficult question to answer
