The gas light in my 97 Dodge Stratus is flashing.?

My 97 Dodge Stratus has about 95k miles on it, and the gas light has started to come on. I'll have a full tank, but the light will come on and the needle will drop, but then once the light goes off, the needle goes back up. The rest of the car runs fine, it's just this little problem that really has me worried. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
 
sounds like sending unit problems,,,
could be as simple as a loose connection,,,,
which is much better than the sending unit itself!!!!!!!!!!!
