Hi just bought this 3disc special edition packed with features, also the movie has added scenes so its like a directors cut. Also surprised to hear Peter Jackson doing the commentary! Any other fans of the movie here bought it on DVD?

Not yet, but i will be renting it soon from tesco-dvd rental :). Is there a big difference in the film? and what are the special features like?.

Well its uncut, plus it includes a couple of deleted scenes which have been put back into the movie.. plus.. it has DD5.1 and DTS5.1 sound! So amazing sound!

The extras are.. a plenty, there's all the usual stuff like a full documentary with new interviews with the cast and Peter Jackson, rehearsals, storyboarding, features on the miniatures and special fx (which are still impressive), deleted scenes, bloopers!

The frighteners is a underrated horror fantasy movie and one of Peter Jackson's best early movie before he did the Lord of the Rings movies. Michael J Fox was great in it too.

I love The Frighteners. It always seems to get ignored, and I don't know why! I've got the original dvd, and am swithering whether to buy the new one...

Yeah same with me as well as I think The Frighteners is a great film and so underrated. I also own the original DVD so I may wait untill I can get the special edition cheap before I buy it!

Hey i cant wait, i am going to be watching this tomorrow night :) . Tesco have posted disc 1 and 2 for me, they are super fast on delivery. I have been with them nearly a month and i have no complaints.

I just cant wait to see it, if it is any good i might sell my original dvd of the frighteners.

I agree with a couple of the comments people posted, it's definately an unnderated movie. I managed to catch it on tv several years ago having never heard of the film prior, and was impressed by the originality of the movie. Always nice to see MJ Fox in a comedic role, and Jeffrey Combs (of Star Trek RAB9, Enterprise fame) puts in a great performance. Enjoy the movie tommorow night! :)

Fantastic movie, i waded through the whole thing over the christmas holidays, it covers just about everything, amazing.

Watch out for Peter Jackson chasing a postman down the street with a stuffed dog. Hilarious. :D

Great film!! I thought it did well?? Perhaps the empty seats were due to 80% of M j Fox's fans never maturing past the days of "Back to the future". So blame anyone in the age bracket of 30-34 who didn't go and see it, Cos i dont know a soul that hated J Fox back in '85. sorry i'm blabbing.
