Hi
The movie "dead poets society" i need help with

The father says "You had the opportunity i never had" to his son Neal.
My teacher said this is the use of blackmail..

what are the effects of using blackmail?
does it show dominance as a father to his son..??
is there more?
please help~!
ty^^

The father is using that line because he never had the opportunity to go to college. It's not really blackmail at all. He's just explaining that he never went to a private school and probably never went to college. He's trying to demonstrate to his son that he has the ability to go further than he did with his education. It shows there is slight dominance as a father to his son, but that is only natural.
