This has got to be one of the worst pieces of rubbish to have been released this year. No word of a lie. It's basically a 2hr big screen court case with flashbacks etc, over the top bad acting and has the same already covered in a billion other possession films and TV documentaries central theme. The trailer for it is one of the most misleading I have ever seen in terms of the actual film material itself.
If you want to be bored to death then it's definitely the film for you. I actually left the cinema about 25mins before the end and I haven't done that for years.
Look at the trailer. It looks laughable. You don't have to attempt 'f**ked up' visuals, to try and make something scary. Terrible film making.Makes you wonder how these people can actually call themselves movie makers.
I thought that Tom Wilkinson was pretty good in it as the priest although I agree that it was more of a court room drama than a scary horror film (although I did watch one or two moments of it from behind a cushion)
The aRAB on TV that seem to come on every 5 mins are so grating! I keep having to mute them out. I love a good horror film, but this just looks so crap. I am not a fan of growling, bad hair & frothing at the mouth stuff.
I am also very interested in the paranormal. Watch Poltergeist. There hasn't been a better ghost/paranormal film since its inception in 1981 but I mean how could there have been? It was the first of its kind and is still regarded today as a hugely popular supernatural/horror classic so naturally its been ripped off to high heaven throughout the years, the most recent knock-off I can think of being White Noise = Bore Fest.
Poltergeist is a fantastic film. The first sequel is definitely worth your time but skip the third entry (it's awful).
I saw the trailers for this and thought that it was going to be rubbish, but went along to see it anyway, and I'm really glad I did, it was a fantastic film. But then again, I love horror movies and courtroom dramas, so this was a great movie for me
it was total shit! saw it last night and I wish i wa having an exorcism done on me just to ecape the movie. if you want a good exoricsm movie then watch the exorcist. if you want a good demonic movie watch the omen, and if you want a good courtroom drama then watch a time to kill or a few good men.
I liked this movie when I saw it a few months back. Much better than I thought it was going be.
I think the problem most people have with it is that they are expecting a non-stop frightfest and what they get is flashbacks to the event itself.
This is not a horror film so anyone going to see it under thae impression that it is (and it partly the fault of the ad campaign that protrays it as a 'scary movie') will probably be disappointed.
For me the mix between the slower court scenes and the contract with the comparatively intense flashbacks worked well. I really enjoyed it.
