The driver's side door of my 1998 Ford Explorer will not open?

no need to replace the door. the linkage on your door handle most likely came loose. it is hard to fix with the door shut. try to take what you can loose of your door panel, look inside with a flashlight to help to see if anything has come loose. try pulling on the door while pulling on any linkage you may see.
 
My problem is one day (about 2 months ago) I closed my driver's side door and it has not opened since. I can tell the handle is loose but unfortunately I'm unable to actually see what is causing the problem.

I was told that I may have to replace the door which would cost $475.00-$600.00 and that is just something I can not afford to do.

I would love an actual link (FREE) of a diagram if possible to assist me with this issue. I have grown tired of climbing in and out through the passenger side door, plus it looks unprofessional when I have to meet with clients.
