WOW Glad to hear you are safe and sound Al......Iv'e been worried sick,
Where's my T-Shirt??????
(And Pics)...LOL........o~`o.............

DARK...but I bet you had the road to yourself, pretty much!?

First time I rode the Dragon, I was staying in Helen, Georgia. 2 hour ride up to
the dragon...I left about 4AM....got to the Dragon at 6AM (ish). Rode up the Dragon
and only saw maybe two bikes on the way back. Had breakfast at the store...rode back to Helen. I think riding in the dark may not be as bad after all? LOL
At least you can say "I did it!".
Will put that on my list of things to do.

Riding that area at night is definately living on the edge... glad you had a great time. That area is one of my favorite areas, I go there about 8 to 10 times a year myself.

I was in Robbinsville Friday and Saturday. Rode the dragon up and back Friday evening in a twilight with a misting rain. The last bit on the return was a little spooky. I could not do it at night. You had a long ride, too. More power to ya! Weather was great Saturday and Sunday.

I rode The Dragon yesterday in midafternoon! Beautiful day! But I can't imagine riding it after dark. With headlights shining straight ahead that road can run right out from under you! Sort of like out running you headlight.

I've been following Amy's updates via facebook...... reliving Kristin and my trip down there in Aug...... I couldn't imagine that area at night being anything less than white-knuckle..... riding back up here at night is nice though, kinda helps you forget how straight all our roads are..... the wind farm on 65 in Indiana was cool at night too

Thanks everyone, while in Sturgis I had L.E.D spots installed and they helped alot, if I was to arrive at night again I would probably would spend the night in Maryville, just to be on the safe side. Being from the Chicago area, I dont see darkness like that very often.

Or curves like that either. I am from northern Ohio and it took me a little getting used to riding long days on the roads down there. I am an accomplished rider but roads like that wear you down compared to the flat straight stuff we have around here....
