The Doctor/Rose (DW) #76: How long are you going to stay with me? Forever.

Did Castiel turn into God?

Yes. Whatever, it's okay as long as you own up to it. :P

There are some shows I watch for the plot. DW is not one of them.

The DW fandom is in general very big on "Character A is sooooo much better than Character B." It's annoying.

Didn't mean to disappear. I was cleaning... my room is so dusty.

 It can't be and I guess under the circumstances I can see why she's doing it, if that's the case, but still. She doesn't have to try so hard. She's got a lot of fans and they love her and they know how old she is. :rotfl:

:lmao: See... and I know all of that and I still feel bad. But true... I know they think about it or at least I know Billie's talked about what she felt when Martha was introduced and she actually likes Amy/Karen. I don't think they begrudge Matt/Karen/Arthur at all but they might secretly wish they could have shot an episode or two in America or gone here to tour. :lmao: But they're all very popular and they all won awarRAB for their characters on DW... or at least Billie/David/Chris did.

I don't think it did. I know Matt Smith lost in his category and I believe Catherine did as well. :(

 Exactly. Would I like to just roll out of bed and go to work? Yep... do I? Nope.:nono: You want to look presentable and while some people can pull off the messy "I haven't bathed in a week" look (RPattz I'm looking at you even though you're looking better now) the majority can't. Alex is a gorgeous woman and the way she dresses and sometimes styles her hair... not good. :look: She's an actress and it's part of her job and she has the money to do something about it. I do have to say her hair looked good at the BAFTAs though.

And now I gotta go. Work in the morning. Night Angela.

Thats what I thought too. Honestly, it can be easy working with a bunch of twenty year olRAB. Especially Karen and all of her model looks.

I feel bad too. But then I remeraber that David Tennant is pretty much beloved by all media as ~The Most Popular Doctor~ and Billie has two successful shows under her belt, and Chris has been in everything, and they've all won BAFTA's and I then I think they probably don't care.

Did DW win any BAFTA's tonight? Or Catherine Tate? :look:

My hair is probably as curly as hers so I don't knock that. Sometimes the messy curls look stunning, but when they aren't cooperating you're a famous actress-- you can afford to straighten them/fix them.
I know its wrong to judge that, but honestly, if you're an actress or actor, its kind of part of your job. Or just as a person with a job. If you go into work at an office you don't just roll out of bed, not brush your hair, and put on dirty clothes.

And I actually get that. I think it's easy to like Moffat's Who. It's a lot more flashy. But like you said it would have been nice for RTD to get this much press and for the actors in that era to get this much press. I guess I just feel bad... and I don't know why I take it personally since I don't know any of them. :rotfl:

I think Karen's look has changed a bit from S5-6 but she works what she wears. Alex... she tries too hard. I feel like she wore those shoes because Ten wore them. :look: Or to try to be younger than she actually is. And her hair is always  and I know it's curly but you can tame the curls.

 I didn't mean for it to sound like I was sticking up for anything. I feel the same way as you guys do. I do feel like everyone is blowing how amazing Moffat Who is out of proportion, and it would have been nice for RTD who to get this much press. But the media loves things that are simpler and Moffat Who is simpler. Its more flash and less substance.

I love some of Karen's outfits but some of them are a bit too hipstery for me. She always looks well put together though. Alex just looks messy there. :look:

You don't have to stick up for it Angela. :look: We're not bashing Matt or Karen. I don't care what the ratings are. It FEELS more popular. Doesn't mean it actually is. I think it's just getting more press. :look:

Alex has horrible fashion sense... not just that one outfit but I've never been fond of the things I've seen her in. I don't really care for Karen's outfits either but they fit her and make sense for her.

I meant online I guess. And with the sudden influx in advertisements it never had before. Not the ratings so much.

And well I don't like Alex's dress but to be honest, I'm one of those people who doesn't like most of what is considered fashionable, so I'm the wrong person to have an opinion on that I guess.

I would use more ice just so I had a reason to use the bucket. I'd have a party as well

I think it's that the fans are more vocal online for it now. And more people could be watching it because if they're from the US the ratings wouldn't be affected.

Also, omg, I just have to say this once:

When Alex was in America in the black dress and the chucks? Hideous outfit. Alex is gorgeous and that entire look was just ridiculous. Plain lazy and frankly, she's an actress-- she neeRAB to look presentable. Matt and Karen are crazy hipsters but they always look like they didn't just roll out of bed.

And then of course everyone on Turablr was complimenting her fashion sense. Sorry, no, thats not fashion. I can respect the hipster look and the Helena Bonham Carter look, that was just being lazy and I don't approve.

I've been thinking that for a while. :look: And I don't mean that as a personal bash against Alex. I've loved her since ER and she's a beautiful woman, but seriously she should not get compliments on that outfit. :nono:

I'd use it for ice. :rotfl: Have a dinner party! Break out the TARDIS ice bucket.

Oh I don't begrudge them. I'm happy for them. But I just wish S1-4 and those actors got more recognition over here. Not by fans necessarily but by the media. I don't remeraber MTV covering DW before S6.

Maybe the same nuraber of people are still watching but they're more vocal now? :look: Who knows... I just get the feeling it's more popular now.

It seems like people feel they have to choose either RTD or SM when it comes to New Who :look: I felt that the story had more of a connection in RTD's era, S1-4 makes sense when you watch it from beginning to end. There was loaRAB more characterization going on as well. In Rose, I knew Rose. In Smith and Jones, I knew Martha. Same with Donna, Mickey, Jack, etc. RTD doesn't give us a character and says "hey look at them do awesome things, rabroadic", he gives us a character and he says "this person is flawed and mortal and tries very hard to be better, you need to experience every moment of their arc".

SM creates characters and then just uses them to work around whatever exciting idea he has for the next episode. I don't really know Amy or River. I know next to nothing about River. Eleven's easier since he's the Doctor and they've been recycling his angst for a while now

I do love the colours of this show (and British TV in general).

If Karen and Matt weren't "hipsters" people wouldn't stan either or the show as much. Also Alex Kingston fans are pretty vocal about their love for this new who and the River/Eleven relationship.

I don't hate River nor do I ship River/Eleven but I think in the right hanRAB it would be less of a cringe-worthy story line.
