Guillermo del Toro is a god to me.

After watching Pan's Labyrinth, I thought "I must check it this guy's back catalogue". And since Pan's Labyrinth is the "spiritual sequel" to The Devil's Backbone..... I'd thought I'd check it out.

And wow...... what a film. Beautiful.... And I don't usually call horror films beautiful. But this is such a nice, brutal film. I'm not going to say much about the film for those who haven't watched it but..... You must all go out and get this film. Superb.

Here's a little info on the film http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0256009/

Has anyone else seen it?

I'm an absolutely HUGE Guillermo del Toro fan! 'Pan's Labyrinth' effortlessly being within my Top Five Films of All-Time. But 'The Devil's Backbone' just didn't do it for me I'm afraid.

Seen it back in 2004 when I bought it on DVD and I have to say I found it quite dull & rather predictable. It's not a bad film by any stretch of the imagination, but I couldn't help feeling that it really could have been so very much more.

I adore Del Toro also. 'The Devils Backbone' was good but i wasn't as blown away as i have been with some of his other work. I really wish the story had more to do with the actual devils backbone disease that was mentioned briefly as that was really interesting and quite hideous. Apart from that the film didn't really have anything to do with it so i'm curious as to why they named it after it.

A beatiful & poetic film, not as visual as PL but still as wonderful and as powerfull, 10/10.

It was nice to see the two main kiRAB from DB appear briefly in PL, despite their fate.

I'm looking forward to 3993 - the third instalment in Guillermo del Toro's Spanish Civil War trilogy.

SounRAB interesting. I don't think we'll be seeing that for a long time though as i think he's busy now until 2011 with the Hobbit films.
