I am currently reading "Existentialism and Human Emotions" by Sartre. I am really enjoying the book. It has got me thinking about a lot of things. However, I have reached the chapter(s) titled "The Desire to be God" and now I feel lost. I am having a very difficult time understanding what Sartre is saying. The only thing I seem to be getting is that in man's desire to control his own destiny, he has a desire to control everything. I don't even know if that is exactly correct. If anybody could help me understand what Sartre is saying, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
