The dating dance - what do you think?

An ex-coworker of mine have kept in touch since she left the company about a year ago, mainly by email. She is in her early 50's and I am in my early 40's. I used to be her manager. When we worked together, we were friendly, but certainly not flirty or romantic in anyway. She had suggested we get together for lunch about 6 months ago, but I didn't follow up because i thought she was just tossing it out there.

Anyway about a month ago, she made the suggestion again and we had a good lunch together, mainly reminiscing and gossipping about former colleagues. We split the bill 50-50. We met for lunch again yesterday and this time she insisted on paying. I suggested that the we should meet for dinner the next time as the clock is always ticking when we meet for lunch. She said "Fine, you owe me dinner."

I'm thinking this is still casual and platonic, but could I be wrong?
