The bluetooth in our mouse and keypad keep turning themselves off?

The bluetooth in our computer's mouse & keypad keep turning themselves off. Whenever we try to turn the bluetooth back on, it stays on for 2-3 minutes, then disconnects itself for no apparent reason. Any idea why?
