The best 50 movies of all time?

Hi. I'm looking to increase my knowledge of movies and what I'd like is a top 50 list of what is generally known as the best movies of all time. Your help would be appreciated. If you don't wish to name your 50 then 10 or 20 would be great.
 
Just watch Ken Russell's The Devils 50 times, it exemplifies all that can possibly be great about films, film-making and film-makers.

(If you find that gets a bit repetitive, intersperse with any of his other films from Women In Love through to Lair Of The White Worm)

My personal top 50 is different to what's a critically acclaimed top 50.

Movies that are usually there are things like One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Shining, Silence of the Lambs, E.T, Schindlers List, the Godfather.

But if I could recommend you my personal favourites, I suggest everyone should see Sweeney Todd, Billy Elliot, Donnie Darko, Across the Universe, Little Miss Sunshine, A Hard Days Night.
 
Six films that always seem to crop up in greatest film lists are Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Gone with the Wind, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Godfather & The Godfather Part II. I've never seen Citizen Kane or Gone with the Wind, and I think the other four are overrated (especially 2001) but it's probably worth watching all of them just to see what all the fuss is about :p
