The Beatles Mono and Stereo?

Hey :)

I was wondering what are Mono and Stereo, and what are their differences? As I plan to buy the newly released Beatles remastered boxset.

All comments are welcomed. Many thanks to all.

First off, yay Beatles! The best band ever is STILL rocking!

But, now to your question. The Beatles recorded all of their albums except the last few (Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be) in mono. All of the mixes that George Martin constructed were made with the intentions of being listened to in mono. With the earlier albums particularly, the stereo sounds a bit faked and forced. The die-hard Beatles fans usually prefer mono because it is authentic, but the average music-listener might not care. In addition, the mono box set is packaged in a different way. They have packaged each album is in a replica LP sleeve, with the linings and inserts found in the original albums.

I bought the box set, and if you are a colossal Beatles fan (like I am), it is SO worth it! Happy listening!

BEATLES FOREVER!
