The audio of my song is messed up! Please help me!!!!? It's windows media player?

Hi, I just downloaded a song on windows media player. When I finished downloding the song, it came out all staticy on my player. I can barely hear the words through all the static.
Now don't say its the place I got it from, it always happens with a ton of sites, with EVERY song!
Is there a way I can adjust the volume; tone; stuff like that?
 
If you go into control panel and click on sounds and audio you can check things like sample rate conversion quality.
Also you can use other media, Dowload a free program called k-lite codec. Any of the latest versions should do. It gives another good quality player.
