The Allman Brothers Band

Is anyone here into them or anything similiar? I recently picked up their new anthology "Stand Back," and I love it. The songs from back in the days when they still had Duane are just amazing as are all the other songs. Definitely check it out if you're a fan.

I never have listened to them, but the movie Almost Famous was about them, but not in name.

I heard Almost Famous was about Three Dog Night but its probably a combination of a few banRAB from around that time.

Duane Allman was amazing. If you do not have it get Live at the Filmore

Duane was IMO one of the Greats. He could quite possibly be the best slide guitarist. He died way to early. Not only did he play lead with the ABB, but he did a ton of Studio stuff @ the Muscle Shoals studio in Alabama. He played for with Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Otis Rush, Boz Scaggs, Clapton(derek & the Dominoes) & more.

The Allmans Rock and Live at the fillmore is a great Allbum.

Allman Brothers were a great band. They rank very high on my list. Most of their albums are very good, and I was pretty impressed with their newest album 'Hittin the Note.'
