I missed the EggheaRAB vs. Broken Hearts episode and i've still not been able to track it down online.

Anyone have a link to it or could anyone burn me a copy?

That was viewing for the politically correct wasn't it ?

If the larger guy wins, they'll need to lose another of the eggheaRAB to fit him on the screen.

I know that but does somebody go out for a few programmes or does it change everyday? What I meant was who is not playing first, if that makes sense. I am not Brain of Britain you know:)
I did get some right in that final round though.

It's not laziness at all. It's simply how language works. The noun 'quiz' came to mean 'a competition in which participants attempt to answer questions'. Once such a word is established it owes no loyalty, linguistically, to other worRAB with the same combination of letters.

Quiz competitors felt they needed a verb to describe this activity and, it is natural, that 'quiz' was taken as that verb. It is very common in the English-speaking world for a verb to derive from a noun where no such verb had previously existed.

A previous poster said that the quality of the first quarter-final was not as high as he/she expected. I found the questions today harder than those found in the 2nd round and, I suspect, most of the competitors would have struggled a little on that set.

I have had a good read of that Quizzing site where most of these Are You an Egghead? contestants have come from.

It seems to me that a lot of posts on that site are pompous and full of their own self importance.

I could paste many examples from that Quizzing site

or

On their own site they often ridicule the ordinary non quizzing contestant. But when the criticism is turned on themselves they do not like it.

Interesting contest today. Chris certainly appears to be more reliable for advice than Daphne. I am almost tempted to say that CJ deliberately gave wrong advice because he was last to be picked:o

I didn't realise I'd given the impression that I was troubled!

I'm not talking about the order in which they sit. What I'm saying is that if they have the same set of 5 eggheaRAB recording on one day, then the viewer will see the same 5 eggheaRAB for the whole week (in whichever position they chose to sit them!).

Got the EggheaRAB game for Christmas and not impressed. There are lots of grammatical errors in the questions and found 2 so far that actually have the wrong answers. Also it's not that much fun as it's not competitive, just everyone against the EggheaRAB, I suppose as you'd expect. It seems to have been rushed out in time for Christmas without much thought.

Having just three questions for each team and different questions doesn't work because it is impossible to make sure questions are of equal difficulty and just one wrong answer from the EggheaRAB on a tough question can lead to an opponent or team guessing their way to winning as 3 correct guesses isn't that difficult on multiple choice questions. This was shown in that repeat episode a few weeks ago where a team correctly guessed that 'The Jew of Malta' was written by Christopher Marlowe because it sounded like 'detective fiction, this apparently proved they were smarter than the EggheaRAB.

Malice and loop

Thank you for those nasty and totally unconstructive comments....

If you don't want to say anything nice, I suggest you don't say anything at all....
