I watched this for the millionty-ninth time the other day and I noticed on the box that it was released in 1994! I've seen Terence Stamp, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving in so many other films but this is still my favourite.

I do have a soft spot for camp classics. I love Strictly Ballroom, Muriel's Wedding, Connie & Carla etc (but not To Wong Foo). The problem is I haven't seen any fabulous films for ages, does anyone still make decent films with drag queens, sequins and/or disco soundtracks? :D
 
I haven't seen it myself, but 'Kinky Boots' sounRAB just up your street!
Not quite in the same vein as the films you list, but 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' (about a transexual rock singer) is a great film with a brilliant soundtrack.
And you've probably seen it, but I find 'The Birdcage' really funny (esp the butler played by Hank Azaria).
 
Edna! How could you not like To Wong Foo? The bit where Patrick Swayze is talking to John Legume (or whatever his name is) and his wig gets pulled off. That made me cry with laughter.
 
I know, bits of it were good and if I'd seen it before Priscilla I probably would have loved it but it just struck me as a cheap rip off. Priscilla had real heart and amazing cinematography, its a film I've loved for 12 years :)
 
Fair do's then. Wesley Snipes "don't go there!.... she went there!". I haven't watched it for some time but I think Wong Foo has a lot of heart too. Don't shout at me too loud but I've never seen Priscilla....
 
Oh Ella you really should see it, you'll love it. In fact its worth watching just to see Guy 'Memento' Pearce and Hugo 'Matrix' Weaving in dresses and wigs! :D
 
TAOPQOTD was on FX not long ago. I watched most of it, but the characters in it just seemed to be a bit flat and stereotypical. Also, the attempts at drama in it came off as cheap and rushed.

At least Too Wong Foo was not taking itself seriously, the funny bits were actually funny, and any dramatic scenes were handled well and portrayed with emotion.

I liked both films, but if I was asked to choose, I would pick Too Wong Foo.

I love all those films that you mentioned.

Watched 'Kinky Boots' last night and thought it was great. A real feel good British film so it's worth checking out.

Also 'Breakfast in Pluto' which i watched last week was wonderful. Cillian Murphy is outstanding (and is fast becoming one of my fave actors) as a drag queen type character.

I'd definately recommend these 2.
