That green stuff

I'm in agreement with most people here that Wally World (Wal-Mart), can be the bane of all evil. But I think most people here that have heard the horror stories about the place have never worked the overnight stocking shift that you're talking about. I did it for about 8 months one time while I couldn't find a construction job. Bath, I never had a better time in my life.

Here's the deal. You come in shortly before the store closes, then about about a half hour after the store closes (at least out here), you start working. It's awesome! There's no shitty customers that you have to deal with, you have a set amount of products that you need to put out each night plus a little straightening if it's deemed necessary, and in most cases if you work quick enough... you get done about two to three hours before your shift is done. And you still get paid for that time after you've finished. Although you can take it kind of lack-a-dasial and just keep working through your whole shift... but it's pretty fun getting done and kicking back in the break room B.S.ing with other workers.

Then when you get done with your shift at about 7am, they let you out the doors into the morning light still without having to deal with any customers. There's generally no dress code involved with these positions, so you won't have to deal with putting on that "special" shirt and required black shoes like the rest of the regular workers do. Plus this sounds like the ideal kind of shift for you since you'd be able to work this shift, sleep through the day, and then get ready for work at about 8pm. Plus once your hubby goes back to work, if you still want both of you working jobs... you'd be able to afford that baby-sitter you were talking about. If you're looking to go cheap like I think you'd want to, I'd say to look for someone about 18 or 19 to do the baby-sitting. That way it wouldn't cost nearly as much as one of the older ones that would charge like $20 an hour.

I don't know, to each their own... but that's my suggestion.

We're not married, but he lives with me so his income still counts. He pays child support to his ex wife for his daughter. We don't have a Chili's, and Olive Garden/Outback have no-tattoo policies. Mine will show in both uniforms.

Our store is 24 hours so I'd have to deal with customer a little, but not much. Not many people go to Walmart after midnight. It's the same with the lenient uniform deal though; you can pretty much wear whatever on midnights. I don't care about everyone saying Walmart is evil yadda yadda. I need a job, I don't care about that.

Wal-Mart isn't bad, and I think you either get time and a half or double time on Sundays. Pretty freakin sweet. When I was there, all you had to do was not wear anything blatently offensive, and wear your little blue retard smock thing, and you were good to go. I stocked shelves, and took care of the paper goods and chemical aisle in our Super Wal-Mart. The only bad thing was the idiot stoners that would come in wondering why the new boxes of tide didn't have the same "with wear care" "with colorfast" or whatever new catchphrase they were hawking that week as the boxes did last week.

Oh, and those damn renuzit air fresheners... people sprayed them like perfume, and would totally decimate the organization system of them... I swear I rearranged them 3 times a day.
