My power steering pulling broke off and I put a new one on as well as the new belt, then as I pulled it out of the shop it would no longer shift. I did have Advance auto put their machine on the van, it came up with some code TCC solenoid or electric something, one shop told me they could probably fix it (fix what they never said) however the guy did know it would cost me around 400 bucks. This somehow just stuck me as a rip off. I still do not know any more now then I did when I had the professionals run a check on it. Also another shop said they can unplug this switch thing, if that is what the problem is and they seem to think it could be.

the tcc solenoid is what makes it go in to lock up mode on the transmission,it wont cause it not to go in gear though,it will cause it to stay in lock up mode and die out when you put it in gear, but it wont cause it not to shift, and it can be unplugged if need be ,you will only notice a slight difference in fuel mileage and it will run a few hundred rpm,s more, make sure that's the problem though, something doesn't sound right with it ,especially if it wasn't doing this before,if it was its probably the solenoid in the transmission that's bad,or clogged up with dirt causing this too happen,if it wont go in gear it could be the transmission its self bad or low on fluid, good luck.
