Hi, yes, I've had several of these. I usually got them with twilight sedation (where you're still awake, but partly sedated). Most of the time I've not had any pain whatsoever while getting them. But I must be honest & say that the last 2 times I did feel the needle(s) going in!!! Also, it is normal to feel pain around the injection area for 24 to 48 hours after getting the shot. One usually starts feeling it after the nurabness wears off. Again, I usually never even had this happen excert for twice recently. For some reason I had pain & some spasming aroudn the area, but it did stop after 2 days. I'm wondering for myself maybe it's b/c of all the scar tissue or irritation after the 1st shot? I don't know...I had 2 different docs do them but the one doc had done them before my surgery. And its always done the same way and with fluoroscopy (live guided x-ray).
But either way, I hope the injection goes well and that it gives you relief afterwarRAB. I have been lucky in that these shots do relieve my nerve pains and even spine stiffness. Though lately after 2-3 weeks and the meRAB wearing off, I'm getting pain back. I think I have something more going on in there, I dont know. But I wish you lots of luck and let us know how it went!
