Texting while roaming in Canada

I have 1050 prl with a plan that does not have roaming minutes included. I plan on going to Toronto for the International Bowl. I don't wanna make any calls, but can I send/receive text messages while in Canada and will I get charged per text?
 
definately not with that prl. i don't even know what the roaming in canada looks like any more... cricket hasn't included canada on a roaming map for probably 2 years now...

in the US you will be able to text free while roaming if you are on a plan that has roaming or have added roaming... in areas where crickets roaming parter allows cricket users to sms.
which means if you have roaming you will not be charged for sms while roaming, but it won't work everywhere... (this is due to billing system limitations and not because it is supposed to be free)
