texting, online chat, phone conversation....question about a girl?

A shy girl that I have liked for months has never initiated a conversation with me online or by text. However, when we do talk online or by text we talk for hours.

This morning she called me when she arrived our college and asked me where we are meeting for our road trip to go out of town for the day for a meeting.

Mean anything? She likes to text people....not call them...found this kind of different from her.

Her friend has told me that she doesn't like me back, but just wants to be friends.
 
It all sounds friendly.
If a girl likes she then she will (at least sometimes) be the one who calls/texts/emails first.
And the fact that she doesnt initated conversations but had no problem calling about your road trip if proof.
Plus if her friends told you she just wants to be friends then its probably true.
They would be the ones who know before you do if she does or doesnt.

If you dont think you can be okay with just being friends I would tell her now.
Its understandable (at least to me).
