Uh huh. Ever have an electric outage, or your cable go out? Ever had your water usage restricted? What about going to a gas pump and finding it out of service or the electronic pay station not working at the grocery store and not have cash or check on you? Did you know that you can buy a car on contract, total it (if repairable, cost of repair is greater than blue book value) and the difference between what the insurance company pays out and the contractual payoff on the car is YOUR responsibility? In other words, you still pay for a car that you can no longer drive.
The FCC regulates how much traffic a network can bear...this is out of the hands of the service provider or you. If you read the fine print in your contract, you will find all of these contingencies covered. So yeah, suck it up or live life in a continually aggravated state. The choice is yours.
The key words in the initial thread starter were "from time to time"...if you simply could not send or receive texts, period, then I would have responded differently. But the reality is, life is not ideal...there is no contract that states anything in life will be fair. There are things you cannot change or control, but how you react and deal is up to you.

"well said, my friend!

btw, doesn't anyone use their cell phone for calls anymore?"

Maybe they should rename them to MMMFCD's--Mobile Miniature Multi-Function Communication Devices?
Thanks, it's nice to be appreciated...count on me to articulate sanity. How last millenium of me.

But still primewomen i agree with what your saying but, if i am going to pay for unlimited text messege (witch i am) people and people are not reciving my messege then the service is a rip off.

All I have left is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. A rip-off to me is the fact that the oil companies have a stranglehold on us. They have squelched the progress of technologies and alternatives to gasoline powered cars and are recognizing record profits while average Americans are struggling to make it to work and back. You and I have NO control over that.
I apologize if I seem a bit indifferent to such a weighty issue to you, but in that, like I said, the key words were from time to time, there are bigger problems facing us constantly that have much greater impact on our lives, I just can't get too excited about an occasional awol text message.
Like sniper said, take it off your account and be free of the aggravation. You can use the extra $5-10 to put gas in your car.

I agree to what your saying but your not getting what i am saying. Heres another way i am going to put it. Lets say your at the gas station and gas is $3 a gallon(witch it is) and your paying $50 to full up for car but after putting the $50 on gas and your metter only reads half tank, then what? You just got rip off the gas station. That is the same way Nextel is taking our money, not to get me wrong or anything but i really like nextel service alot. Also i dont know if your notic but look at the other companys for unlimited text messeges is only $9.99 like t-moblie, i had them befor and i never had a problem with text messeges. NExtel charges $15 for unlimited text messege and its not even half as good as tmoblie. I am pretty sure that Nextel could simply fix this probelem if they wanted to. There taking are money just like everyone else in this country and there is nothing we could do about it.

I DO get what you are saying. You chose to go with Nextel because you like their service..but apparently dissatisfied with the cost and reliability of the text message feature. You had x amount of time to try it all out to see if you would be happy with the service before you would be locked into contract.
Sorry...bad example. First, if your guage reads only 1/2 then is possible the guage is malfunctioning or you have a 30ish gal. tank. Secondly, the pumps are inspected regularly to insure they are working properly...$50@$3/gal = 16.66gal, and that is what should read on the pump meter. The gas station is not going to risk being dragged thru court for fraud, levied hefty fines and possibly be shut down or lose customers over bad publicity. If there is a malfunction or misprogramming of the pump...it would be quickly discovered and with your receipt as proof, you would be recompensed appropriately.

You could talk to a CS supervisor and possibly get a credit to your account. Send an email to the president of the company expressing your issue and proposal for resolution. Or you can publicly grouse if you get greater satisfaction from that.
