Text messaging problem, any help is appreciated

I recieved some text messages, but I can't read what they say. I can read how they start out when Im in the menu, but when I click on them the only thing in the message is a symbol. Does anyone know how I would be able to read the real text message?
 
change Character Setting to normal not unicode (mess.settings, :smart: sending profile, default,character settings)
