Text Messaging option not available.

I recently re-activated my boost mobile phone, which is a i730. Everything is going fine except for one small problem. I can't text message anyone. Before, I could text message someone by going to the main menu, hitting "net" and hitting text message, but it seems that option has dissapeared. The only way I can get to the text messaging menu, is if I go through message center, and click on an existed net alert I have and go to the main menu from there. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

contact boost or go to a service center. This can happen when you re-activate boost phones and are under different names or numbers etc.
