Texas wage garnishment for Student Loans?

I fell into a bad situation and let my loans default, owing 72K now with fees. All reported to my credit reports years ago.
I was unemployed for years and am married.
Now found a decent job and realize DEPT ED wage garnishment letter arrived!
I tried awhile back to pay the collection agency, but they KNEW how much I made (how!) and wanted the entire 15% which, really, after that is taken out, child care, etc, the job is not worth the sacrafice needed to keep it.
I tried to negotiate a reasonable 150$, they said nope entire 15 % or nothing. So I said why am I rewarded to set up my own plan, when its just the same anyway?

I certainly do not want my job to know of this issue if I can help it. Just wondering is there really any other solution? Because if they do take 15% my husband says the job has to go- just stay at home. I love my job...but need ideas/options

Appreciate the help
