Texas Labor Law and my rights to have a day off?

At my job, a preschool, I am a hourly employee, I have been there since September. I have taken some sick days because my body had not built up a tolerance to all the crap the floats around and they understood that. A new "director" came in and made us all sign this form, which included "you must put in two weeks notice if you want days off." I put in a month advance for a day and a half and they are refusing to give it to me, this has happened before as well when I put in 2 and a half weeks notice because my mom was having surgery and they refused to give it to me, Keep in mind, these are not paid days off. It comes out of my paycheck. They asked all these questions why I needed it off, and still said no. What are my rights in Texas? Please help, this job is a nightmare!
