tethering please help

does anyone know how to optimize connection settings? i have an 8320 running os 4.5 and the speed is supposed to 115 kbs but i cannot ever get it to download faster than 17 kbs and most of the time im downloading at an average speed of 7 kbs . please help as i am getting grey hair waiting for my downloads...lol
 
That's actually a maximum connection speed under the best conditions. It's going to depend a lot on the signal in your area. The few times I tethered my 8120 and 8900, my connection speed was somewhere around 20-30k as service at my home isn't the best. I personally tried a few of the settings I found online in forums and they didn't make any real difference as it depends so much on your wireless connection.
