Testing the Efficient/ Weak Market Hypothesis?

I want to test the Market Efficiency Hypothesis to see whether a market is weak, efficient or semi strong. Would you be able to advise me as to which tests I should use and which software I can use to perform them? I'm not too good with statistics, so if you could even direct me to a tutorial it would be pretty awesome!
