Tested for STD's after several years...?

I recently visited my gyno, due to a blocked gland on the labia-( that is what it was, it has since drained and I'm now on antibiotics).

He took a urine sample and swab from the vaginal area, to test for gonorrhea (sp?) and chlamydia, just in case. I only had sex once, about 5 years ago (stupid mistake), condom broke; so I could have only contracted anything then. I did get tested then, but did not think about the possible window period ( i got tested approx. 3-4 weeks after).

Anyway, my question is:
Would any gonorrhea and chlamydia show up on a vaginal swab test after several years? or is it too late to be diagnosed that way?
 
You would have developed PID, or pelvic inflammatory disease if you have gone years with either of these infections. The signs of that are green, yellow discharge from the vagina, fevers, alot of pelvic pain, achey bones, etc... It takes less than seven days for a culture to pick up the infection, so if you were tested 3-4 weeks after the event, the cultures would have definitely picked this up. Do not worry, its standard procedure to be tested for STDs everytime you go to the gynecologist for anything, as many teens and young women tend to lie about sexual encounters. Hope this helps!
