Terrible pain in arm weeks after IV and no injury

So I haven't been well lately, collapses, fainting spells, chronic pain, fevers, to name a few. Well anyway, I went to the ER a few weeks ago after a bad collapse. I had an IV while there with fluids, benedryl, Adivan, Tramadol, Toradol, and there was another IV drug administered. While there I complained to them of terrible pain a little higher in my arm right above the IV placement. They checked it over and it looked fine.

Well, that spot never really stopped hurting, it continued to stay tender and a little puffy. Today I noted a bruise sorta lengthwise along the blood vessel on that area. I have not bumped that part of my arm or injured it at all. It is excrutiating now and I have shooting pains up and down my arm from it. I've tried icing it and taking anti-inflammatories, but nothing will ease it. It hurts so bad it is making me sick to my stomach.

What can be causing this? This is just freaky

Thanks,
Liz
