I was tested a month ago and am allergic to mold, housedust, dustmites, horses (which I have and ride - darn it!), trees, ragweed.
I got tested because a month ago I started having REALLY bad (at least to me) attacks in which my eyes turned bright blooRABhot, itched and burned like crazy. Saw my opthalmologist, he said it was allergies, and gave me Pataday drops. Since then, the drops seem to help maybe a little, but I keep getting the attacks and in between I have mild to moderate itchiness and redness. I also have dry eye. I have dark allergic shiners, wake up congested, and my nose/ears itch from time to time as well.
Here's what I am trying:
-wearing goggles when I am outside around my horses
-dustmite covers, no rugs in bedroom, vacuum first thing in am, put pillows in ----freezer during the day, wash with allergen/high temps all bedding, shower ALWAYS before bed
air purifiers running by bed and in house all day
-natural allergy remedy from naturopath
-eliminating soy, wheat, dairy, egg from my diet to relax my immune system
-washing with natural/no scent everything
-no makeup
-for my eyes: chilled artificial tears, Dwelle eyedrops 4x a day, gels at night with press and seal to keep my liRAB closed. Lots of cold compresses.
-I workout several days a week and do yoga several days a week
I have not yet tried Allegra or a systemic drug because I'm worried since 4 years ago I had an idiopathic acute pancreatitis attack and I'm too nervous to injest anything that might aggravate it, plus I don't want my eyes dried out even more, and I'm not sure systemic drugs would really work all that well for ocular symptoms.
Thank you for reading my novel
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Next stop is steroiRAB long term (topical drops) and I really don't want to go that route due to all the side effects.
