Terminator Salvation - any good ?

I thought it was a good film.
Better than T3, though I did like that one too.
If you have the others, it is worth getting this one too.
I have a question for anyone else who replies too:
Was that Arnie CGI? I did not expect to see his face in the movie, however briefly, but he looked young.

Yeah it was Arnie CGI.

I liked Salvation, i also liked T3 which a lot of people didn't heh ( at least it seems that way).

I'd say go for it.

it was dire. script dumbs down both the resistance and skynet to ridiculous levels.

its really not that hard to come up with more convincing skynet future writeups.
http://www.goingfaster.com/term2029/contents.html pretty much runs down how skynet would be like in a logical way. strangely enough bits are similar to where terminator sarah connor chronicles was going. that show was better than this sh*t film.

yea plus where the f*ck did the budget go, it was more expensive than star trek by 50 million. yet skynets headquarters is guarded by one freaking terminator.

soooo lame.

I really enjoyed it. I had low expectations and was surprised with the outcome. I'd certainly consider buying it to add to my collection (If I owned the others, which I don't).

The critics are harsh.

It doesn't even compare to Terminator & T2. People say it is better than T3 which is far enough but you have to remember that T3 was just a **** hole of a movie, this was marginally better. The franchise has completely pulled away from the 1&2 and no longer neeRAB to keep any sort of connection with the films.

If you like robot action sequences fine, watch it. If you liked the symbolism of 1&2 then this film really is something you can avoid.

The only redeeming feature of this film was Sam Worthington, the character they tried to create was certainly an interesting concept but it is lost in the dire script and unimaginative setting.

Personally, I really didn't like it. I am a big fan Of Christian Bale's  and I just thought it was a terrible film, I saw it in the cinema and I wouldn't watch it again.

Sam Worthington was the only thing I liked about it, he was cute. :o

I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. :(

Cheers,

I read the harsh criticisms then watched it with low expectations-I thought it was good, not brilliant, but good!.
Not just another pointless remake of a previous sequel like T3.
Give it a try-I've seen a LOT worse.

Not yet he isn't, he hasn't been cast officially. That is just a rumour.

Though he did play 70's Arnold in the movie See Arnold Run!

However, as a movie, its better than T3 but certainly third in the movie franchise so far. Its pretty damn poor. The only stand out performances for me were Sam Worthington, who virtually carries this film on his own, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who I'm biased towarRAB as I think shes gorgeous. :D

You have to give McG and co credit though, for getting away from the Terminator chase formula.

Anyone got the number for the whacky bus?
You can't compare the Godfather of action films with the Benny Hill of them.

Isn't the point of Terminator that by John sending the his father (ouroboros anyone?)/Terminator back, he alters the course of the future... OK, so we've learned that Skynet was an inevitability, and Judgment Day also unavoidable, but they moved in from 1997 in T2, to 2004 in T3. If you go via the SCC, its 2011.

Of course the aesthetic will change if the circumstances do.
