As a fan of the "Terminator" films, the direction they're taking it looks misguided. I'm not going to say it's going to be a bad film since it hasn't been made yet. But what they have planned leaves me cold. Here's what's planned:

1) "Terminator 3000" will be a CGI animated feature film.

2) Budget is $70 million.

3) Characters & situations will be based on the first Terminator film.

4) Story is still secret but the film will be geared toward kiRAB. They're going for a PG-13 rating in the US.

5) Violence will be minimized.

There's no word on what will happen with the live-action Terminator franchise. As far as I know, there's still no plans on completing the "Terminator Salvation" trilogy.

Well....on the plus side this will probably flop big time.

James Cameron should just buy the for life rights to the franchise so nobody else can mess with what he started. This stinks of cash in.

I'm a little annoyed that this at first glance seems to be more of a remake/reimagining if characters from the first film are involved. Admittedly, I enjoyed "Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles" but I don't feel like I need another new version of events just yet. Surely a CGI/animated film should have the widest horizons available, like showing the events after "Terminator 3" or wrapping up the story after Salvation, events which are probably too costly to do live action?
