Termination for excessive tardiness, even though vacation time was used?

I was recently terminated from my position of 2 years for excessive tardiness, even though the time I took off was on earned, paid vacation time. In fact, I still had more time accrued. Is this legal, or a violation under some sort of fair practices agreement?
 
I don't think you can use vacation time piece by piece for being late.
You have to have a planned vacation of some sort, presented to your boss beforehand so they can plan around it.
I would have fired you too.
Unless you're in a Union I think you're out of luck (and even then might still be).
