...to take it off! 99 Dodge ram? ...van. We had our water pump replaced & they told us that we would have to replace our belt soon. So the battery died & I checked the belt. Yup its loose. So loose I slipped it off the tentioner pulley without moving it at all & used my fingers! There was a 1/4 clearance!
I know to use 15MM on the center bolt & pull to the right, but my ratchet is short & I am not as strong as I used to be. I even used a trick my dad taught me when I was 16 to put a hollow pipe over the ratchet & then you have a longer lever to pry with. I cant get it to budge & I dont want to break it. Even the diagram shows an arrow of how its supposed to move it.. Please any suggestions would be great.
Obviously I am going to need to move the tentioner to get the new belt back on without stretching the new belt, right? or is there another way?
