The Federal Reserve System, an unelected entity not subject to the Republic's system of checks and balances, wields tremendous power influencing and controlling the nation's economy and , thereby, the lives of its citizens. In spite of this, the Fed is essential to the ongoing economic growth and stability of the United States.
