Our slider has enjoyed his indoor aquatic turtle aquarium complete with basking rock & both UV light & heat lamp. As Spring/Summer approaches, I'd like to make a make shift outdoor habitat for him. I only intend on moving him outside for the day so he gets some natural exposure...then back in for the night.
Without a lot of construction or spending a lot of money, this is my idea:
Place a kiddy pool in an area that gets good sun & shade.
Place a shallow bowl (maybe something you'd water squirrels with) filled with water inside one side of the pool.
Fill the remainder of the pool with natural objects/plants...like driftwood, sod, etc.
Any other methods I could consider?
