Tempature Control Sensor on 04 Dodge Stratus?

My engine light came on on my 04 Stratus (2.4L DOHC Vin X) took it to Auto Zone got scan said engine coolant temp to cold. I had the light cleared it went out. Bought a Coolant tempature Sensor and replaced it started the car light came back on (light was not on before replacement. Went back to have it scanned now its saying engine coolant to hot and they could not get the light to clear any suggestions? The car does not seem to be overheating or anything
