Television shows are stealing concepts?

There have been many times where I'm watching a show and realize that the same thing thats happened on one show is happening on another.

On GLEE, Kurt(who is gay) meets a closeted gay who keeps bullying him and when he confronts him about it, the angered football jock kisses him, revealing that he is gay also. Now, on Pretty Little Liars, Emily(who is a lesbian) meets a closeted lesbian who keeps bullying her, so far as to try to drown her, and when Emily starts talking about it, the angered swim-team jock, kisses her, revealing that she is a lesbian also.

A long time ago, there was an episode of Wizards Of Waverly Place where Alex wanted to learn how to fly a magic carpet and the father wouldn't let her. Alex found out that the father taught her brother at the same age, and was giving her a double standard so she snuck out to ride without her father. Her father tells her that he set different rules because her brother is her brother, and she's Daddy's Little Girl. Now, on Good Luck Charlie, a new Disney Channel show, Teddy wanted to learn how to drive, and she finds out her brother PJ learned before her, but her dad is giving her a hard time about it.. and when they talk he says "PJ is PJ, and your my little girl!" Almost the same words right?

I could go on and on but that would be boring. Do you think this is a coincidence.. or do you think shows are literally running out of ideas and feeding off of one another?
