Teen pregnancy has become way too popular.
There are many reasons and corruptions why so many teens are becoming pregnant. Teens are very easily influenced especially when it comes to sex. Take pornography, it leaRAB to harmful fantasies such as rape or other sexual abuse. Pornography teaches that women, sex, and babies are just play things not serious problems when it comes to sex. It also teaches that sex is meant to be about fun not love (teen sexuality 47). It senRAB the message sex doesn't need commitment. Music, art, literature and the way we dress or the way other people dress effects if teens have sex or use protection(teenage sexuality 24). Parents of teens also play a role in how lenient they are. They let teens do what they want to prevent arguments. The teens sometimes have no parental supervision and have the home all to themselves for hours at a time. Teens are able to take boyfrienRAB or girlfrienRAB home after school and do as they please. They even let their frienRAB bring their girlfriend or boyfriend over. Parents can prevent their teens from having sex for a little while(teen sexuality 20). Birth rates are continuously rising. Many things like not using protection or just not being conscious play a role in preventing teen pregnancy.
Teens get pregnant because of many reasons: Sexual experimentation, lack of understanding, not thinking clearly, or sometimes teens want to get pregnant. One reason people don't understand is when teens intentionally get pregnant. When it's not planned teens have to figure out what steps they are going to take (teen sexuality 80). Now if teens get pregnant and their parents don't want them in the house or there is just no one there, teens have somewhere to go. It's called Mom's house. There is also a program called New Chance. It was developed in 1989 and it is a nonprofit research corporation. It is in sixteen locations and studies teen pregnancies with drop out rates(pregnant too soon 25). Sometimes when teens keep babies it's because they feel they have to or it's out of guilt (pregnant too soon). When they keep the baby, how are they going to make it? Who is going to watch the child? If the teen has family support is a big help, but the baby has too many mother figures and can get confused. To many people can take care of the baby. It's not good for the baby to be passed around (pregnant too soon 32). Some teens are forces to get married, and it's not always right. Two wrongs don't make a right. Teens generally are going to argue and may live in poverty. This is not always for the best (preventing teen pregnancy 1). Teen moms that get married usually drop out of school and stay home with the baby. Some may have another child in the future and may eventually get divorced. Many teenage girls are left with no diploma, no job skills and the babies (pregnant too soon 30). Teen births cost the government $25 billion dollars a year. Tax payers also support teens with babies. This may include, food stamps, medicaid, and welfare (preventing teen pregnancy 1). Why do teens have an appeal to have a baby if welfare is not enough to support a child (preventing teen pregnancy 5). Effects of teen pregnancy are numerous. Pregnancy "diminishes" teens success, changes their future, hurts many people, and hurts them physically (preventing teen pregnancy 1). Some health problems are anemia, the baby can be premature, malnutrition for both the teen and the child and no parental care (pregnant too soon 27).
Teenagers are changing the way of the birth process. It's not to uncommon for babies to be born in cars accidentally, but having them on purpose in cars, throwing the infants in dumpsters and then heading to the car wash to wash out the blood is a hideous thought. Although that is how many teens do it today. Some even give birth in restrooms then deposing the baby in the wastebasket to forget about it (time 42). Many people think this abandonment of babies is because it is so hard to have an abortion. Teens shouldn't have sex if they can't handle a baby (preventing teen pregnancy 4). When it does come to dealing with a child you have four choices; abstinence, which is no sex so you don't have to worry about how to take care of the child or have to worry about having a child. Abortion is basically killing the baby before it is born. Adoption, have the baby then give it to people who can better take care of the baby's life or keep the baby and try to make a good life for it(internet 1). You can have sex but protection is a wise option even though it's not guaranteed to prevent pregnancy. There is a fifty percent chance of conception. Condoms, birth control, or any other protection will not guarantee you won't have to deal with being a teen and pregnant. You can never be to safe (internet 1). Some people say the parents are at fault for not providing protection for their kiRAB use. Parents don't want to face the facts that some teens are having sexual intercourse which may really scare them(preventing teen pregnancy 3). If people knew how bad teens were going to get they would have taught their children how to have sex safely and change some attitudes, they should also bring in more information (teen sexuality 10). Sex clinics are opening at some schools. Protection, check ups and counseling are provided at these clinics (preventing teen pregnancy 6). Schools that have these clinics in their school say pregnancy rates have gone down. The schools without clinic rates were up. Teenage moms say yes to clinics at school and education about love, sex, and relationships (children having children 90).
