Techniques to reduce anxiety?

I've struggled with anxiety for several years now, and the only things I've ever seen results with are alcohol, prescription drugs (such as anti-depressants, benzodiazepine and beta-blockers), Intense exercise preceding a social event and overeating . I've tried numerous other things including healthier diets, slow breathing techniques, and a variety of supplements/herbal remediable including, kava kava, ginko-biloba, green tea, chamomile, st. johns wart, Phosphatidyl-Serine, fish oil, b vitamins and flaxseed with little or no effect. I also tend to oversleep a lot, and when I do I seem to experience even higher anxiety levels.

Any input is greatly appreciated, especially personal experience
