I've recently taken up a casual job (amongst friends of friends) teaching academic level English in Korea. However my problem is that I've never actually tutored English before and as such I'm a bit lost as to how to go about it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips they could share so I don't feel as if they're wasting their money?
As far as I'm aware I'll be helping them with essay and sentence structure, advanced vocabulary and just general improvements to university grade writing. But other than proofreading and explaining grammatical errors within the assessment material they give me - I really have no idea what to teach them...?
Does anyone that has taught advanced English overseas have a teaching plan or guide that they found worked well? Any tips appreciated...
