Teacher recommendations for college?

Do you have to get a recommendation from a teacher that teaches the subject that you are interested in pursuing? I want to go to medical school, does that mean it would look bad if I did not get a recommendation from my science teacher (even though I have better connections with teachers that are not my science teacher because my school doesn't have very good science teachers).thanks!OrangeKitten: I am well aware that medical school is a graduate program. I know that med schools do not care about what I did in high school, however, since I plan to show colleges that I'm interested in going into medicine, I am wondering if the colleges would care if I had a recommendation from a science teacher to support showing that I am interested in medicine...
 
you don't have too. its better to get one from a teacher who knows you well. and a teacher whose class you've done well in
 
At your level, teacher recommendations don't mean much. It's all about your GPA and SATs that will drive you into a top school, primarily. Also, medical school is a graduate program. This means you can only apply near or after your 4 year degree graduation. At that point, nobody will ever care what you did in high school.
