I'm thinking about decorating my lounge in a tattoo-inspired theme. I was thinking more along the lines of old-school traditional tattoos. The idea came from a Design on a Dime episode :) Any ideas or tips? What colors would work best? Any creative ideas on how to work the tattoo designs into the room other than hanging the art on the walls?

ed hardy springs to mind, make cushion covers out of his inspired t shirts
and use
things like these

ed H has a collection of pottery too, but its not cheap

the chair in this link could be an idea too, not that chair obviously but you could do something similar with a cheaper char and an off cut, or paint fabric yourself

I would keep the muraling on the walls contained to one wall - it will shrink your room and be too busy if you were to mural all 4.
Check out tattoo websites for pictures of traditional old-school tats and copy the ones you like onto one wall.
If you are not a good artist, I recommend printing the ones you like and tracing the outline onto transparency paper (any Office supply store), find a projector (rent one from a local "rent-all" store) and project the images onto your wall. Then just draw and paint - EASY!!
You may want to visit some local tattoo shops for additional insight into color schemes and ideas!

Good luck and I like the idea!
