Talking/arguing with close minded people -- what would this be psychologically?

Curious mind

New member
Recently, I've had a lot of trouble with very closed minded individuals. They argue to pass their points on, but don't listen or even partially agree with a single thing I, or others say. They're right, you're wrong. They don't acknowledge any points you bring up.

Talking or even arguments result in them making up their own rules. The only rules that apply are theirs and that's it. Logic is bent for their argument, but can't also apply towards you ( being the counter arguer)

I'm ready to just stop talking/arguing with these people, but want to know how to describe this in a psychological term.

So my question; how do you describe this to say a professional? And also what is the name of a person who is like this? I'm hoping it's a disorder.

Example; A person who lies and distorts things all the time would be defined as a chronic liar.
