What do you do with a culture that can put on trial a 7 year old and hang him? There's no fixing it. They're beyond fixing. To execute a child let alone in public is beyond comprehension. What on earth do they think it will achieve and what a sickening example to set.

The bottom one is a paramilitary group in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The top one I am having a harder time placing. Are they both from the Congo? Perhaps Uganda?
 
It is really hard for me to have faith in the innate goodness of human beings when I hear these kind of stories.

Some pretty horrible shit in this world. I have spent many hours reading and listening to testimonies of children who have been liberated from these conditions. It can be a pretty big downer.

Saying you can't fix it is a little melodramatic. We've done just as worse in North America in the past and we've mostly grown out of that bullshit.
